Alvark Tokyo is finalizing a deal with Marcus Foster, one of the top scorers for EuroCup champions Hapoel Tel Aviv, after his standout 2024-25 season.
Who is Marcus Foster?
The 30-year-old American guard averaged 13.6 points on 65.3% two-point shooting and 42.6% three-point shooting for Hapoel last season. He also posted 2.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 24 minutes per game.
Playoff heroics sealed the EuroCup
Foster stepped up in the playoffs, averaging 14.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists across six games against Turk Telekom Ankara, Valencia Basket, and Gran Canaria. He drilled 20 points in Game 1 of the semifinals against Valencia, then dropped 22 in a must-win Game 3. His game-winning shot sent Hapoel to the EuroCup final, where they claimed the title and booked a spot in the 2025-26 EuroLeague.
Proven track record in Europe
Before Hapoel, Foster led Rytas Vilnius to the 2023-24 Lithuanian League championship and was named Finals MVP after averaging 20.5 points in the series against EuroLeague side Zalgiris Kaunas. He also led the Basketball Champions League in scoring in 2022-23 with 20.6 points per game.
Alvark Tokyo’s EuroLeague push
The Japanese club is also set to add veteran EuroLeague big man Brandon Davies. With Foster on board, Alvark Tokyo is building a roster capable of competing at the highest European level.
